The Anarchists' Picnic, 2008
Assemblage. Fabricated wood frame, window screen, plastic, copper wire, nails, screw eyes, EPDM rubber rings, paint. 14 x 5.5 x 2.75 in.

In the 1920s, anarchists held picnics to socialize and to raise money for the defense of Sacco and Vanzetti, whose trials and executions led to mass protests internationally.

N.B.: The black plastic strips used as the weft of the weave are remnants of the zip ties used in the
Patchwork of Debt assemblage.
